Bad Kitty!

Those of you who have known Jennifer and I for a while remember the Satan spawn of a cat that Jennifer convinced me to get back before we got married. Looking back on it, I really don't know what I was thinking. It must have been a moment of weakness, but Jennifer called me from the SPCA to see what I thought about getting a cat. I said that it sounded like a good idea. My thoughts here were that it would be nice and sweet, purr at my feet and only really be seen when we wanted to play with it. Boy was I wrong! I won't go into more details about Satan ("Mimi") because those of you who knew her don't want to recall those memories either.

Well, I promise you all that this story is true, but I don't really expect any of you to believe it. I don't have pictures because we forgot the camera, so you guys are just going to have to trust me. After we got power back at the house, Jennifer decided that she would just stay in Lufkin because Mema, Grandma Lisa, Gran, Granddad, etc. were all excited to see the boys and we didn't want to just run in and run out. I headed back to Lufkin last weekend to pick everyone up, but we had always intended to stay through the weekend so we could go to the Lufkin Zoo. For you skeptics out there, the Lufkin Zoo is actually quite nice. They have recently gone through some major renovations and opened many new exhibits including Rhinos, Giraffes, Lion, Tigers, Bears, Hippos, etc. Seeing that there is never any guaranty you will have all the time you expected, we headed straight to the cool exhibits first.

We were very happy to see that the Jaguars were very active this afternoon. To help give you a picture of the zoo and the Jaguar cage, there are three viewing windows. One of the windows is glass and you can walk right up to it and get literally inches from the Jaguar. You are obviously separated from the dangerous cat by glass, but he is just right there. The other two windows are made of a fencing material. The enclosure is separated from the walkway by a guardrail and about 10 feet of vegetation/brush. The key point to make here is if you were dumb enough to cross the guardrail and walk through the brush, you could stick your finger through the fencing material.

Before your imagination runs too wild, NO, I did not cross any guardrails. I am not that dumb. As I stated before, the Jaguars were very active this morning and the black one was pacing back and forth in front of one of the open windows with the fencing material. The boys were stoked to see the big cat and frankly so was Daddy. To many times you can go to the Zoo and end up only seeing the animals sleep from a distance. I was letting the boys get the full experience of the Jaguar while Jennifer and I chatted about some of the rednecks that we had seen at the Lufkin Zoo, when all of a sudden I felt something wet hit me. Jennifer screamed and that is when I turned my head to see a giant cat ass spraying cat pee all over me! Yes, I got peed on by a Jaguar! Believe it or not, it is true. I defy you to come up with a more embarrassing, crazy, freak story than that.

Austin Pictures

Sarah just sent me some pictures from our visit to Austin. My favorite picture is Cooper falling asleep on Timmy. Sarah pointed it out to him and he SCREAMED, "IS HE ASLEEP??".
The boys got to eat lunch at the Hula Hut and then go outside and see the ducks.

The boys loved the puppies!

Webbers is Walking!

There are certain things that as a working father you just know that you are going to miss out on. The law of averages tells you that it is highly unlikely that most of their "firsts" will come on the weekend or on one of the other 29 days I get off every year. Today's big event, was that Caleb has decided it is time to walk. They both have taken a few steps, but that was only after you made them stand up and gave them the appropriate level of enticement. Even at that point it wasn't more than just a few steps. Well, those days are apparently over for Mr. Webbers. Mommy called me just a few minutes ago to report that Caleb was sitting on his butt when he decided to stand right up and walk across the room. We are all very proud of Caleb including his brother, Cooper. I would imagine that it will only be a matter of days before Cooper takes the cue from his brother that crawling is no longer what the cool kids do!

We spent the first few days of our post Ike evacaution visiting the Sarah and Timmy in Austin. Here are a few pics from the weekend! Notice Timmy in the background watching Caleb. I think he is crying, but Timmy didn't know if he should pick him up or not.

Notice how tired Timmy looks in the picture below! I don't think the Meyer's were ready for Cooper and Caleb's schedule. They always wondered why we put them to bed so early. After a few days with Cooper and Caleb, now they know!

This was taken at the Chic-fi-La in North Austin. Sarah had never had breakfast from there. It is practically one of the food groups for the Seely's!

Here is a quick pic of Mommy and the Boys. Everybody looks so happy because they are well rested. The boys decided that in the midst of a Hurricane and evacuation they would sleep through the night for two nights in a row, for the first time. Thank God!

The Seelys are Safe and Sound

Hey there everbody! Just wanted to let everyone know that The Woodlands is out of power so we headed to Austin to visit Sarah and Timmy. Obviously Ike was a horrible storm, but we came out of it relatively unscathed. The house didn't suffer any damage and there was no flooding. At about 6:15 this morning I was rocking lil Webbers when all the power went out. It really wasn't that bad until mid afternoon, but you just can't imagine the stench that comes from having two babies on solid foods when there is no circulation in the house. The rain finally stopped about 4:30 so we loaded up the boys in the stroller to survey the damage. Let's just say that not everyone in our neighborhood came out of the storm as good as we did. There were multiple houses with tree damage, but I didn't notice any flooding. During our walk we met a really nice lady that informed us she had spoken with an inside source @ Entergy and the best case scenario would be 1 week and worst case was 3! Apparently the power generation plant that services The Woodlands is located in Beaumont. Because Ike was so massive the outer bands of the storm flooded our beloved plant and Gustav had taken care of the backup in Lake Charles last week. Therefore, Huntsville is the next option, but that is the 1 week scenario. That made the decision very easy to head to Austin! All that said, we really don't know when we will be back. I am assuming that Protiviti will be back online at the latest Tuesday, but Jennifer may just get to hang out with Sarah and Timmy for a little while longer.

Check back later this week for pictures of our adventures with Sarah and Timmy in Austin!

The Woodlands - Walk MS 2008 Walk and Run

Lauren, Greg, and Winston

The Seely Family will be participating in the Walk Ms 2008 Walk and Run on Team Lauren!! Be first to donate or Join Team Lauren and walk with us!!!!!

Ike Is Coming!!!!

Since we may not have power for a little bit, I wanted to be sure no one had to face Ike without some new pictures of the boys. We have been super busy. We had a play date for the MOMs non walkers . The boys had so much fun they both slept through the night!!!!! Since a lot of us have kiddos that are kinda walking, we decided that a non walker was anyone who has taken less than 1000 steps. Matt is in charge of keeping count.

My new obsession is the mall playground. I LOVE it!!! Everyone that knows me well is quite surprised I enjoy it as much as I do. I hose them down with antibacterial gel before and after , so hopefully the germies will stay away.

Cooper stole Caleb's paci, so he climbed up the stroller to retrieve it.

Stand Up

The boys love to stand. Caleb will take quite a few steps , but most of the time Cooper just stands there and smiles and wants you to clap for him.

They are so excited when they get to you and they just throw their arms around your neck!!!

First Day of Work!

Well, today wasn't my first day of work but it was the boys first day to come with me. The Boss Lady called me early this morning and asked if I could come in. I was a little nervous because work went right through their first nap. They did awesome and had a great time playing with the other kids. We were so lucky to find a job that was such a perfect fit for our family! They got to sit at the big boy table to play and eat lunch! They loved it. The playroom was FULL of my favorite toys- Melissa and Doug!!!Cooper played with dolls at Grayson's party AND at work!!I promised I would put up pictures from Grayson's First Birthday Party!! Caleb is taking 8 steps at a time! The secret is taking his paci and having him come after it!!!

Grayson went straight for the cake!!!

Daddy's Hunting Trip!

This weekend Daddy headed out to San Saba for his annual Dove Hunt so Gran made the trip to the Woodlands to help Mommy. We just absolutely love Gran's visits and really look forward to seeing her so often. We actually got a little spoiled during the summer because Gran could come so often.

Check out our new Camo clothes! Aunt Ann hit a homerun with these outfits. Mommy had us wear our camo in honor Daddy's hunting trip. Actually I think she was hoping since we were already dressed that Daddy might let us come with him. While we didn't get to go on this trip, Daddy promised that one day he will take us, but remember the golden rule, "What happens at the hunting camp, stays at the hunting camp!"

Some special blog love needs to go out to Grayson for his 1st birthday. Mommy and Gran took us to his b-day blast where there was plenty of cake and lots of neat presents to play with. It was really great to get to spend the day with Grayson, Karen and Feranando!

Mommy wanted me to let everyone know that she is voting for Miley Cyrus for the VMA's Best New Artist online competition. She highly encourages each of you to log to vma.mtv.com and vote for Miley as well.
Mommy has also discovered a new playland for us! The playland at the Woodlands Mall is chalk full of fun things to climb, crawl, walk and run through and around. It brought us hours of enjoyment this past weekend because of the hot weather.

Hi! I am Cooper and I am coming to get you!!!!!!

Mommy's Night Off - Mr. Mom to the Rescue

As most of you know, Jennifer has decided to take on a new job and a new hobby at the same time. This means that Daddy gets a whole lot of quality time with the boys over the weekend. Don't worry though, he loves it! The afternoons normally consist of doing "man" things that Mommy isn't normally that interested in participating i.e. trips to Academy, Gander Mountain, Best Buy, etc.

Mommy's cake classes start on Saturday afternoons and normally last right up until bed time. Then on Sunday mornings, Mommy works at the church. This give Daddy almost 24 consecutive hours of time with his boys (they normally sleep for about 12 - 15 of those hours).

This past weekend was a holiday weekend so we were lucky enough to get to go visit friends on on Sunday afternoon. Jennifer's good friend Amanda was in town from Atlanta visiting her sister, so we loaded up and headed to the Med Center. Amanda's sister has a little girl so the boys were really excited to meet a new friend. However we weren't lucky enough to get to see Zoe as our trip coincided with nap time. That was OK, because we were able to hang out with Amanda, Blake and Becky. Zoe had plenty of toys to keep the boys busy and Mommy and Daddy had so much fun catching up.

The big event from Sunday was what happened after we left our visit to the Med Center. We were on the way home and Mommy said how much she missed Midtown and how much she wished she could hang out with A-Maw and The Root for the Root's b-day. Daddy being the kind, gracious and loving husband/father that he is said, "Why don't I just drop you off on the way and I will take care of the boys for the night!" After a little coaxing Mommy relented. A quick trip to the Gap for some essentials ensued to pick up some essentials and then Mommy was dropped off. Daddy proceeded home for dinner, bath time and bedtime. The boys were a little hard to get down, but after that was accomplished, THEY SLEPT THROUGH THE NIGHT!
NOTE: We have plenty of good pics to share from the weekend, but I can't find the camera right now. Mommy will need to post the pics when she wakes up in the morning. Feel free to call, email, post comments, etc. to remind her!
