On the Road Again....

Hey there sports fans, Cooper here, and I am here to tell you about the awesome weekend we had in Lufkin this past weekend. We got to see all sorts of fun people including our new friend Kate Rich. Kate is the daughter of Paul and Rhonda Rich. Paul and Daddy are friends from a real long time ago, like before we were even born!

The weekend started with a drive up Highway 59 to Lufkin. For the most part this was pretty uneventful as we slept the entire way. That is until we got to Diboll. For some reason, Caleb did not enjoy his time in Diboll and he proceeded to scream all the way in to Lufkin. His spell was short lived as once we got to Lufkin, we got to see Gran and Granddad! That was enough activity for the evening so we went quietly to bed after hanging with Gran and Granddad for a few mintues (yeah right)!

The next morning we headed over to Mema and Papas for a fun afternoon of hanging out in the yard. Mommy even let us play in the grass and pet the doggies and kitties! Fat Cat was especially friendly so we liked her the best. There was another kitty there, but Mommy and Daddy wouldn't let us play with Mimi. I wonder why?

Following a good long nap back at Gran and Granddad's we were off to meet the Rich's. Ms. Cindy had bought a really fun moonwalk that was filled with balls. We played in that for almost an hour with Kate. The evening was capped off by a family dinner @ Morales. Apparently the old Morales burned to the ground and this one was brand new. This was actually the first Saturday night (more like early afternoon) it was open.

The next day we headed back to The Woodlands. It was really great to get back to normal and sleep in our own beds!

We Are Mobile!!!!

As you all know, one of our New Year's resolutions was crawling. Well, we are happy to report that both of the boys are officially mobile. Take your eyes off of them for more than about 15 seconds and you will find them across the room. There is a qualifier to "crawling". Both of the boys are doing what we will call "Army" crawling. Basically this just means that they kind of lurch along on the ground by pushing themselves along with their legs, but not yet using their arms. For the most part they just scoot along on their shoulder.

The big event from today was that Cooper started to "Big Boy" crawl. This is crawling in it's traditional sense and is very scary! I can't imagine how difficult it is going to be to corral them once they both are "big boy" crawling. For right now, it is only about half and half for Cooper. When he gets tired he resorts back to "army" crawling.

This past weekend I was trying to get the boys dressed and I mistakenly left the baby wipes within their line of sight. The big development recently has been that they no longer accept that something no longer exists because they can't see it. If you put something they want behind your back, they will just crawl/roll/scoot behind you to get it. I finally got so tired of hiding the baby wipes that I had to throw them across the dining room.

On Sunday, we stopped by our neighbors Mark, Cindy and Wyatt Avery to see if they wanted to go on a walk. We were very surprised to see Wyatt's new moonwalk! Mark and Cindy insisted that we get in and give it a ride. Cooper and Caleb LOVED it. One of their favorite pass times in the playroom in their jumparoo. This is basically a jumparoo on steroids. It didn't hurt that Wyatt had plenty of fun balls to play with as well.

More Pics from the Timmy's Wedding!

After my last post, I decided to find my pictures from Sarah's wedding. She was such a beautiful bride and I just had to put some up.

This was their first picture as Mr. and Mrs. Timmy

When I say I was HUGE, I mean it. I think we were only 6 months along in this picture!

Happy Anniversary!

A year ago today we were in Austin to celebrate at Sarah and Timmy's wedding!!! I was the reader in her wedding and was as big as a house and cried through the entire thing. So I am going to put up a picture of us at my wedding instead. I looked much more presentable. Congratulations to the Timmys!

PLAYDATE!

The big event for the Seely's on Saturday was our play date @ the Peterson's. It really is amazing how crazy life can be sometimes because Kyle and I have been talking about getting our families together for about 6 months now. All it took was Kyle sending a formal invitation over a month in advance to get it done. We are really glad that he did because we got to meet all sorts of new friends today. The hosts were Kyle, Stacy and Riley Peterson who live just a few miles down the road. Other attendees included the David, Karen, Molly and Hawkins Hodges. Molly and Hawkins are twins who are just a couple of weeks older than Coop and Caleb. Peter Nguyen, his wife Emily, their son Braden and new baby were there as well.

Everybody had a lot of fun. Molly, Hawkins, Cooper and Caleb all played on the living room floor while Kyle and Stacy treated us to a really nice lunch! It was really great to see everybody and meet some new friends!

The most exciting event from the afternoon was Cooper and Caleb's introduction to Kyle's dog, Rex. The boys LOVED Rex and started laughing hysterically whenever he came near them!

The rest of the day was spent running errands and culminated with a quick trip to Rico's. We were supposed to bring the camera so that we could get pictures of Cooper and Caleb sitting like big boys in the shopping carts, but Daddy forgot it! That means you will just have to wait a little while longer for those pics!

Gotta follow the rules!

As we all know, Seely boys are law abiding citizens. It is no surprise that they are in complete compliance with the posted rules at our local park. We hope this trend continues well into their teenage years.

Happy Birthday!

Cooper and Caleb are 9 months old today! I can't believe how quickly they are growing up! Caleb pulled himself up to standing in the crib this week and Cooper loves to play peek-a-boo with you! Last night Caleb went to bed at 6 o'clock and slept until 7 this morning!! Cooper only got up for about five minutes! Mommy and Daddy are feeling great today!!

Happy Birthday April!

Aunt April - Happy Birthday from Matt, Jennifer, Cooper and Caleb. It was so much fun to see you and Uncle Mike this afternoon. Sorry that we had to bed so early:(

Corbin is TWO!

This weekend Gran and Granddad came down to see us and we had so much fun! Gran stayed with us while Mommy and Daddy went to a nice dinner Friday night. We missed them so we got up and rocked with Gran until they came home.

Saturday morning we got a surprise visit from our A-maw. She got us dressed and ready for our big Birthday party!

We made the big trek to Katy to see our friend Corbin and his new sister Claire. The party was held at the Little Gym and had fun activities like balls, gymnastics, and jump jump activities. Our favorite thing was playing with the balls.

Corbin enjoyed his special day and it was so fun to see Claire!! We are looking forward to the Barrow roadtrip to the Woodlands!!!

Look Who is SO BIG!

Mommy was feeling a little nostalgic this afternoon so she decided to bust out the bouncy seats and take some pictures. We used to get a lot of feedback from everyone that all we did was take pictures of them in these chairs. I decided that it might be fun to bust out a little blast from the past just to show you all HOW BIG my babies boys have gotten. Also notice how much their hair has grown. It is just truly amazing how much and how quickly they have grown!

The most noticeable difference when you put them in the bouncy seats now is that they almost recline to the floor. To be honest all we really use them for these days is the occasional baby einstein video. Lastly when you look at these pictures notice how chubby their legs are now. A great way to get them to smile and laugh is to gently pinch their inner leg fat.

Introducing www.seelyfam.com!

We got a really neat surprise today when our friend Ryan emailed to tell us that he had purchased the domain name http://www.seelyfam.com/ and linked it to our blog. All this means is that you can just type in http://www.seelyfam.com/ instead of the previous address, seelyfam.blogspot.com.

This was really thoughtful of Ryan and we really do appreciate him thinking of us! Come to find out, purchasing domains is a hobby of Ryan's. So, if you try and set up a website and can't get the domain name you want there is a good chance Ryan already has it. Which I am sure he would sell to you for a small fee!

Our second surprise of the day came when Mema, Papa and Grandma Lisa came to visit. They came bearing numerous gifts including Chic-fi-La, clothes and a plastic pool! You know how much we love the pool!

Even Daddy came by to visit while everybody was at the house! We did hear some bad news though that on his way back to work from the house, he got a flat tire. Daddy said that it was a lot of fun to fix a flat tire on the side of the road in your work clothes!

Picnic!

We met Emily and her sweet girls at the park for a little chick fi la picnic. Now that the kiddos are pretty mobile, it was really just a game of chase the baby and remove the leaf/dirt/french fry from their mouths. It was a pretty eventful day for little Caleb as well. He had been working on his 3rd tooth all weekend and it just popped out!! A couple of hours later Cooper got his!! I forgot my camera , so I had to steal the pics from emily's blog!

Molly wanted into the puffs as bad as Cooper did. He was not happy about it AT ALL!!!

Look at these sweet little babies! Caleb was loving her hair!!

SPF 50

Here is to hoping that swimming is the missing link we have needed to convice the boys that waking up at night is no longer necessary. Our neighbors, Ryan, Natasha and Nic Graves invited us over this afternoon because they were firing up the pool to enjoy the amazing spring day we were having. Let's just say that both Cooper and Caleb really liked the water. The Graves pool is very baby friendly because they built a really shallow sitting area that is covered by a huge umbrella. The umbrella also adds to the Seely friendliness as it keeps our very pale and prone to sunburn bodies from direct exposure to the sun. All that being said, in true Seely fashion, we made sure that everyone was well coated with SPF 50 before proceeding into the harmful UV rays.

The really interesting event from the afternoon was that we discovered our swim diapers were made for girls. Notice that they are hot pink and have a picture of Dora the Explorer on the front. It was actually somewhat embarrasing to have them in girl "britches", but Cooper and Caleb didn't mind so why should I. At the end of the day, they were free thanks to Jennifer's Mema and they definitely served their purpose.

I know we promised some pictures of the boys in bluebonnets, but we didn't quite make it to the bluebonnets this weekend. The reason for our failure to fulfill our promise was TEETHING! Let's just say that both Cooper and Caleb did not enjoy the bone making its way through their gums ONE BIT! Can you really blame them though? I couldn't even begin to imagine the pain they must be experiencing. I had my wisdom teeth removed and that was pretty painful. This would basically be re-living that pain about every six weeks.

Picture Time!

I just took a couple of pictures of the boys before their mema, papa, and grandmother got into town. I love the matching helmets!!!

I tried to get the Kodak Gallery sent out yesterday of all of the pictures we took in March, but it turns out we took almost 400 pictures! Maybe I take too many pictures, but they are just too cute! We are going for a romp in the bluebonnets this weekend, so stay tuned for more pictures!!

American Idol - Cooper Style

So here we are again watching another week of American Idol. The theme for this week is Dolly Parton and I think Dolly and Paula go the same Doctor because they are definitely popping from the same pill bottle. I am not really sure what that means, but I heard Mommy say something like that. Seeing that I am only 8 months old, all I really do is repeat what Mommy and Daddy think about American Idol.

Brooke - I thought it was good, but a little slow. She just doesn't have that next gear that you want some times. The folksy style was good and I really like the acoustic thing she had going.

David Cook - He sang some song about a sparrow which actually went pretty well. The only problem I have with DC is that he gets so much love for taking all these risks, but then admits that he just looks up the "risky" versions online.

Ramielle - GOODBYE! HOPE YOU HAD FUN!

Jason Castro - You can tell he was a little surprised to be in the bottom three last week and tried to put a little more effort this week in to his performance. I thought he did a good job and wont have to sweat much next week as he will not be in the bottom three.

David A. - WOW! This kid can really blow and it is freakin amazing how much the girls love him.

Kristi Lee Cook - You would hope that KLC would strive in the Country week. What does she do? Lays a total freakin' egg! Completely unforgettable and could have been done by anyone with a Karoake machine.

Syesha - Come on! "I Will Always Love You"! Welcome to Stereotype-ville! I will say that the whole sitting on the piano thing was a nice touch and she did a pretty good job, but the lack of originality with the song choice is going to be a problem. Sorry girl, you ain't no Whitney!

Michael Johns - Could there be a more out of place performer than an Aussie who has to sing Dolly. He definitely got it right! This was one of those songs that just has you tapping your toe through the whole thing!

So who is in the Bottom Three? Well, this week is going to all Ladies as Ramielle, Syesha and KLC didn't do enough to move past the people with talent in the competition. As stated above, Miss Malubay's run on American Idol will come to an end tomorrow night.

Caleb's New Helmet!

So far he has enjoyed his new helmet. Having twins in public draws enough attention. One of them having a giant helmet with his name on it attracts even more. We will see what two adorable babies in giant helmets with their names plastered across the front brings us.
