Monday

Not much has been going on around here. It's hard to live up to the super fun party Saturday, but we can try. After everyone left Saturday, Uncle Mike and Meredith came by for dinner. The boys were so exhausted and went right to sleep and did really well that night.

Later Saturday night we (Daddy) put together their toys and had them all ready for them to wake up and see! They were a little too young at Christmas to really enjoy the toys Santa brought, so it was really fun to see them crawling over their new toys trying to figure them out.

Cooper got up first so he got to play first...

We got everyone dressed in their new outfits from A-maw and they worked as a team to play with their new tractor thing from Uncle Mike. They both really enjoy it, but Caleb LOVES it. The seat has storage underneath and he probably spent 1 hour today taking one ball at a time and putting it under his seat. After lunch he hid Cooper's sippy cup in there and would sneak a little sip every now and then.

Granddad got the boys a ball pit and they LOVE it. They spent quite a bit of time in the ball pit Sunday afternoon.

Notice the MONSTER FACE on Cooper....

I love Cooper in the background of this picture. It took a while for them to figure out how to get in and out of the pool.

We make most of the boys baby food, and they would never eat our peas. We thought the texture might be throwing them off, so we tried Gerber peas. If you caught Caleb on a good day, he would frown as he forced it down- but Cooper would just reach in his mouth and scrape all the remnants out of his mouth and flick them on the floor. So in a last ditch effort to get them to eat peas, we steamed a HUGE batch of peas and they LOVED them. They ate half of them for dinner and the other half at chickfila today.

Bestest Birthday Party Ever!

Today was the big day and I am proud to say that everything went off without a hitch! The day started a little rocky when the air conditioning repair guys were two hours late and we had to reschedule for tomorrow morning, but you will be glad to know that the house maintained a comfortable temperature and the party was saved.

All of Cooper and Caleb's best friends were there including their girlfriends Molly and Ally, Grayson, Nic and Wyatt. Well, Wyatt was asleep next door, but he was there in spirit. We had a great time and the boys really enjoyed the great company, good food and all the great presents. We cannot thank everyone enough for the wonderful gifts!

Here is a recap of how the day went. Daddy got up with the boys around 6:30, fed them breakfast and we headed out to Kroger for the first of many quick trips to pick up stuff for the party. Before we left for the store, Daddy graciously asked Mommy to give him the recipe for the sugar free, egg free organic cake for the boys. My plan was fulfill Mommy's wishes to refrain from giving the boys all the sugar that comes in the store bought cakes. Mommy relented mostly due to the fact that she was tired and gave Daddy the go ahead to purchase the cakes for the boys. Boy were they good! The rest of the day was spent going back and forth between HEB, Chic-fi-La, Ricos, etc.

The party got kicked off right @ 3 o'clock. We had a great turnout. In fact, everyone that was invited except for ONE person (you know who you are) made it to the party!!!!

Party Time

The boys are in bed and we are getting ready for the birthday party tomorrow!!! We weren't sure that we would be able to have a party so soon after surgery, but Cooper has been doing so great and we decided at the last minute to have a little get together!! We will post pictures from the party tomorrow!!!

This is Cooper's monster face. There is no reason why he makes it, but when he does , you growl MONSTER FACE! at him and he busts out laughing!

Caleb is coming to get you!!!!

3rd times a charm!

Cooper got molded for his helmet yesterday. It went pretty badly. He knew something was up and wanted nothing to do with it.

When they start screaming before the plaster even goes on, you know its going to be bad.
These were taken right after. Normally they both calmed down after the plaster and the pinning of the arms is over. It took a while for him to calm down.
Bathtime is usually his favorite time, but as you can see he is still pretty upset about someone jacking with his head.

Once he is clean, dry, and dressed his mood is significantly better.

Later that night we put everyone in their new space jammies. They are the cutest things we have ever seen. They read books on their birthday chairs and Caleb slep through the night again!!! Cooper had night terrors again, but that was to be expected after the trauma. He slept great after we calmed him down. We have a big birthday party for the boys this weekend, so get super excited!!!

Helmet Day!

Today is molding day for Cooper's second helmet!! After all he has been through, this should seem pretty minor in comparison. This is the first time I have had to juggle both babies while getting a mold, so who knows how this one will go. Maybe they will work faster with two screaming babies. Everything is moving right along...Cooper is healing very nicely and has started sleeping pretty well! Caleb is getting so big and so close to walking!! These pictures were taken after dinner last night, so excuse the squash/blueberry/cheese/banana mess covering their whole body. I am so tired of the face wiping battle by the end of the day - I don't even try. We are about to throw them in the tub anyway!

Post-Op

A lot of you have been emailing and calling wanting see what Cooper looks like now that he is over a week post-surgery. Well, here he is! The swelling has subsided significantly but there is still some there. Dr. T said there would be some swelling for at least a couple of months!

Have you ever heard the expression, "When it rains, it pours"? Well that couldn't be more true based on what we experienced since we got home from the hospital. The big problem with being in the hospital is that someone bothers you about every 3 hours. They come in periodically to check vital signs which includes checking their temperature. Friday afternoon rolled around last week and I was on cloud nine because we were on our way home. It all went downhill from there. Cooper developed a fever on Friday afternoon when we got home and it basically put him in a bad mood for the rest of the weekend. The fever persisted throughout the weekend and in to this week. Dr. T wanted us to go to the ER Saturday to make sure there was no infection, and after blood work, another IV, and a catheter, they could not determine what the cause of the fever was. Today was actually the first day where the fever went down and stayed there. Keep your fingers crossed it stays that way. Since the fever continued throughout the weekend, we had to make a visit to the medical center Monday to make sure that the incisions were clean. Everything checked out, so we are just hoping things get better. Tomorrow we go in for a follow up CAT scan, so keep us in your prayers that everything comes out OK.

DON'T FORGET ABOUT WEBBERS!

Caleb is doing great as well! We are still trying to work through some sleep issues, but Caleb couldn't be more active. The sleep issues got so bad that we decided it was time to consult the Doctor. His diagnosis was that Caleb is getting ALL FOUR of his molars at the same time:) Aren't we so lucky!
