A Little Boy's First Freebirds

Cooper and Caleb joined a fraternity of young men this evening that represents a true turning point in their lives. This fraternity I speak of is known to most as the recently expanded restaurant, Freebirds! This classic twist of the traditional burrito has been a staple in my life since I first stepped foot in College Station, Texas and I have now passed along that tradition to my sons. Cooper and Caleb, 25 years from now when you are reading this post you can thank me for introducing you at such a young age!

Caleb actually seemed to be a little more interested in the burrito, but we won't hold that against Cooper just yet. They both did a great job of finishing their dinner which is all that matters.

Uh Oh, BoBo!

Gran got the boys new bikes and they love them! Caleb figured out how to stand up on it and toppled over on the tile!

We went to Tera's house to play before work and the boys fell in love with Corbin's piano. So of course, Tera loads it up in the minivan and sends it home with us. Thanks, Tera!

Birthday Update

We definitely had one heck of a birthday weekend around here. The problem is though that we really haven't done a great job of carrying the camera around with us. I think it is me subconsciously refusing to take pictures because I want a new camera. The weekend started with a trip to our favorite, albeit expensive, breakfast restaurant Rise n Dine! The boys did really great, but they definitely took their sweet time getting us our food.

You may ask what you do when you have two toddlers strapped in to high chairs with food on the way?

Give them jelly to eat, OF COURSE!

We used to be able to hand them the jelly packets and they would just hold them until they lost interest. They have officially figured out how to open the jelly which resulted in approximately 4 packets each being eaten as shown above.

More JELLY PLEASE!

I just wanted to throw this one in there to show the boys got ice cream again this weekend!

The boys sent Mommy flowers for her birthday. They did chores for Gran to pay for them! You can't turn around without them climbing up the table to try and smell them!We had some time before church Saturday night so we decided to make a pizza. The boys enjoyed until they realized they didn't ge tto eat it right away. They ate so much of the uncooked topping they weren't that hungry at dinner. We had to have a little snacker before bed! Finally, a big THANK YOU to all the ladies that came out for my Birthday Dinner at Uni!! We had so much fun!! Thanks you Lauren, Purvey, Laura, Emily W., Pregnant Kelley, Emily O., Tera, Andrea, Misty, Root, and A-maw!!!!!!

Mommy's Caving . . .

There have obviously been numerous goings on in the Seely household over the past few month. So much so that we just haven't had the time to make sure seelyfam.com had the appropriate amount of attention paid to it. We are very sorry for the absence and promise to try a little harder to keep the updates coming.

The big event from last week was an impromptu trip to Downtown Children's Museum and then dinner with Uncle Mike. The museum was amazing and the boys had a great time. Dinner was a little more adventorous. At one point I thought Uncle Mike's head was going to explode!

It might be a while before Uncle Mike agrees to join us for a public dinner. They really weren't that bad, but there was a little wait so we had to get a little creative with the entertainment. It is a good thing they don't charge for sugar and sweet and low. We ruined quite a few of those pink and white packets.

Mommy, you are CAVING! You will notice in this picture that Cooper has an ICE CREAM SANDWICH. You should have seen the light in this child's eyes when he bit in to the chocolate and vanilla goodness for the first time!

Actually, it looked something like this! What a happy little boy. Thank you Mommy!

Noah's Mugs

Our Young Life leader from high school is helping his son start his own business and it’s SO COOL! http://www.noahsmugs.com/ By purchasing a mug, you are giving a child in Africa clean water for their lifetime–crazy, huh?

This is the cute story on his FB about how it started:

When Noah was 6 years old he heard that there were kids all over the world who had to walk miles to get some drinking water that then made them sick. After asking his dad some probing questions about what he’d heard and giving it some thought Noah started a conversation with his Dad that started this whole Mug thing.

The conversation went like this…“Dad, we have to do something about this!”

Mike, Noah’s Dad, said, “Well, what do you suppose we should do?”

Noah, who had been thinking this over replied, “We should sell coffee mugs because when people drink out of them, they think about drinking and when you think about drinking stuff, you’ll think about water. Then all of the money we make can go to help kids get water that doesn’t make them sick.”

“Well, what is going to make your mug different then every other mug out there?”

“Dad, our mugs are going to help people get clean water…and I’m going to make some really cool themes and drawings.”

“Really?”

“Yea, I already thought of it. Castles, Wild Bears, and Flowers – cause girls like flowers.”

“Noah, can you draw a wild bear?”

“Yeah, I’m a real good drawer. So can we do it, Dad?”

“Sure, I’d love to go into business with a 6 year old!”

As Noah’s Dad was teaching Noah how to put together a business plan, they realized that they could give someone clean drinking water for the rest of their life off of the profits of just one mug! And so that’s how Noah’s Mugs began. Noah and his dad…and the whole family now print and press mugs and ship them all over North America. And for every mug sold – another person gets clean drinking water.

Hard To Believe . . .

That almost two year ago, to the minute, Cooper and Caleb came in to our lives! The past two years have been quite possibly the most rewarding (and challenging) of our lives. We could ask for two more sweet, special and awesome children!

Cooper and Caleb, your mommy and I would like to wish you the happiest of birthdays! We are so blessed to have you and look forward to watching you grow for decades to come!
